The Flaming Lips, formed in 1983 in Oklahoma City, are remembered thanks to their "elaborate" live shows and unique sound that formed legions of fans. With three Grammy Awards thanks to some songs you might know like “Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots” and “Do You Realize??,” their performances include a vibrant and high-energy performance that's going to be helped by some vibrant visuals. Modest Mouse, founded in 1993 in Issaquah, Washington, delivers raw, intense energy with songs like “Float On” and “Dashboard.” Frontman Isaac Brock’s lyrical depth shines in a lot of the releases from this band. Expect a setlist blending classics and new tracks, with Friko adding Chicago indie flair.
The concert promises a dynamic mix of The Flaming Lips’ theatrical psychedelia and Modest Mouse’s gritty anthems. The Flaming Lips’ recent shows feature confetti cannons, laser displays, and Coyne’s signature hamster ball, while Modest Mouse’s raw live sound amplifies their studio work.
