The Surfing With The Hydra marks the beginning of SatchVai Band's North American tour after their successful European tour. This extensive tour covers various destinations across the United States, featuring Seattle, Austin, Houston and additional major markets. The ensemble features Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, drummer Kenny Aronoff, bassist Marco Mendoza and guitarist Pete Thorn.
The audience will experience Satriani performing his most famous songs which include "Surfing with the Alien" and "Flying in a Blue Dream" and "Always with Me, Always with You" in a live performance. His 2022 album "The Elephants of Mars" shows his musical growth as an instrumental rock musician who makes new musical compositions. This acclaimed American guitarist has accumulated 15 Grammy nominations throughout his distinguished career, along with numerous Guitar Player magazine awards and induction into the Guitar World Hall of Fame. Interestingly, Satriani worked as guitar instructor to numerous famous musicians, like his present tour mate Steve Vai, Kirk Hammett of Metallica and Alex Skolnick of marker.
The stage performance will present Vai's exceptional musical interpretations of "Regarding the Love of God", "Tender Surrender" and "The Attitude Song" to the audience. His 2022 album "Inviolate" established his position as a leader who advances instrumental rock music. This thrice-honored Grammy winner has received multiple Guitar World and Guitar Player honors and achieved fame for his performance on films like Crossroads. Intriguingly, Vai began his career transcribing music for Frank Zappa at merely 18 years old and operates a bee farm as a hobby.
The instrumental progressive metal band will perform high-energy music for audiences through their songs "CAFO", "Tempting Time" and "The Woven Web". The band demonstrated their ability to create intricate musical structures and play extended-range guitar techniques through their 2022 album "Parrhesia". The musical group was established by guitarist Tosin Abasi who leads the ensemble which has earned Grammy nominations and achieved success in creating the djent subgenre while performing at Download and Coachella festivals. The group obtained its name from Daniel Quinn's novel Ishmael which explores how humans have taken control of animal populations. Presently, the roster includes of Tosin Abasi, Javier Reyes and Chebon Littlefield.
